Unucha Nurture

The feminine embraces self nurture. Recognizing these last 3 months in Peru have been extremely demanding I decide to love myself with a day of receiving. Jeremy returned home to Port Townsend 3 days ago as I too had a seat with him on that flight, however a divine calling has me staying an additional 3 months. I feel I must now go inward to nurture and fill my chalice so I can continue fully giving of myself to all that exists.
The day starts with my friend Jose for a cup of Peruvian coffee, as he arranges for a moto (3 wheeled vehicle) to pick me up and deliver me to heaven, well the Unucha spa in the small village of Taray. Only 5 minutes up and around the mountain which is across the valley from our adobe home. I am warmly welcomed by Maria and William as they show me the sanctuary which is for me to enjoy in solitude with their loving support assisting my restoration.
Unucha means water in Quechua, which is the native language preceding the Peruvian spanish. I am always drawn in and fully aligned with the water element, so for this to be a sacred day of water ceremony delights my heart as I celebrate the gift of receiving.
Maria first escorts me to the sauna where she adds water to the hot rocks allowing the vapors to imbue the room. After 20 minutes of beautiful heat she arrives back with a salt rub penetrating my entire body preparing me for the tub.
The outdoor bath tub is filled with local medicinal herbs while the tub is covered with rose petals of pinks and reds with an enormous hibiscus blossom resting at my feet. Relaxing in this intoxicating elixir I am quickly carried into the ether where all is creation. Glancing across the valley I appreciate the clear, sunny sky revealing a familiar friend, Apu Linli who stands tall behind our farm house. While sipping on a splendid concoction of citrus and local herbs I begin to shed tears of gratitude for my life and to pacha-mama for her beauty and abundance.
